찬양을 통해 모든 것을 초월함
음부가 주께 사례하지 못하며 사망이 주를 찬양하지 못하며 구덩이에 들어간 자가 주의 신실을 바라지 못하되 오직 산 자 곧 산 자는 오늘날 내가 하는 것과 같이 주께 감사(찬양)하며…(사38:18-19)
당신의 전 존재는 의를 위해 분투하고, 불평하며, 울부짖을 지도 모른다. 당신은 다른 이들을 용서하는 것이 어렵다는 것을 발견하게 된다. 당신이 당신의 느낌을 극복하는 것은 어렵다. 당신은 부당하게 대우 받고, 비방 받으며, 핍박을 받지만, 당신은 그러한 상황을 이길 수 없다. 기도는 그다지 도움이 되지 않는다. 당신은 그에 대항해 싸우고 분투하기 원하나 할 수가 없다. 당신이 이 짐을 떨쳐버리려고 하면 할수록 당신은 너 나빠진다. 당신은 극복하는 것이 어렵다는 걸 알게 된다. 당신이 커다란 개인적인 곤경이나 심한 불의를 당할 때 그 때는 기도할 때가 아니고 당신이 찬양할 때임을 반드시 기억하기 바란다. 당신은 머리를 숙여 주님께 말해야 한다. “제가 주님께 감사합니다. 당신은 당신이 하는 것에 있어서 결코 틀리지 않습니다. 나는 당신의 손으로부터 온 이러한 모든 것을 받아들입니다. 주님께 감사합니다. 주님을 찬양합니다.” 당신이 이렇게 한다면 당신의 모든 문제는 사라질 것이다.
승리는 육체와의 분투와 아무런 관련이 없다. 다른 이들을 용서하려고 노력하거나 자신의 힘으로 다른 이들을 용서하려고 분투하는 것은 승리와 아무 상관이 없다. 승리는 머리를 숙여 주님을 찬양할 때 온다. “당신의 길을 인해 당신을 찬양합니다. 당신의 안배는 언제나 좋은 것입니다. 당신께서 무엇을 하시든 당신은 옳습니다.” 당신이 이런 식으로 주님을 찬양할 때, 당신의 영은 모든 문제들 위로 솟구칠 것이며, 당신의 내적 상처들 위로 솟구칠 것이다. 당신의 영은 가장 높은 곳으로 초월할 것이다… 그리스도인의 생명은 찬양을 통해 솟구친다. 찬양하는 것은 모든 것을 초월하여 주님을 접촉하는 것이다. 이것은 우리의 주 예수님이 땅에 계셨을 때 취했던 길이다.
Transcending Everything through Praise
For Sheol cannot thank You, and Death cannot praise You; They that go down to the pit cannot hope in Your truth. (19) The living, the living, he will praise You, as I do today...Isa 38:18
Your whole being may struggle, complain, and cry for justice. You may find it difficult to forgive or pardon others. It is hard for you to overcome your feeling. You are wronged, slandered, persecuted, and you cannot get over it. Prayer does not help much. You want to fight and struggle against it, but you cannot. The more you try to shake off this burden, the worse you become. You find it hard to overcome. Please remember that when you suffer great personal hardship and severe injustice, it is not the time for you to pray, but the time for you to praise. You should bow your head and say to the Lord, “I thank You. You are never wrong in what You do. I accept all these things from Your hands. I thank You . I praise You.” If you do this, all your problems will go away.
Victory has nothing to do with struggling with the flesh. It has nothing to do with trying to forgive others or striving to pardon others with one's own strength. Victory comes when one bows his head and praises the Lord: “I praise You for Your way. Your arrangement is always good. Whatever You do is right.” When you praise the Lord this way, your spirit will soar above your problems; it will soar above your inner wounds. Your spirit will transcend to the heights... The Christian life soars through praises. To praise is to transcend everything to touch the Lord. This was the pathway our Lord Jesus took when He was on earth.
