행 28:23 … 더욱 많은 사람이 그의 숙소로 찾아왔다. 바울이 아침부터 저녁까지 강해하여 하나님의 왕국에 관하여 엄숙히 증언하고, 모세의 율법서와 신언자들의 글을 들어 예수님에 관하여 그들을 설득하였다.

31 아무런 방해도 받지 않고 아주 담대하게 하나님의 왕국을 선포하며, 주 예수 그리스도에 관한 것들을 가르쳤다.

Acts 28:23 …Many came to him at his lodging, to whom he expounded these matters, solemnly testifying of the kingdom of God and persuading them concerning Jesus from both theLawof Moses and the Prophets, from morning until evening.

31 Proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness…

우리의 사역은 하나님의 왕국이신 부활하신 그리스도를 번식하는 것이다. 그러나 오늘날 모든 도시는 마귀의 왕국이다. 그러므로 그리스도의 번식을 위한 유력한 사역은 하나님의 왕국을 위한 투쟁이요 전쟁이다. 온 땅이 어둠의 왕국이다. 만일 우리가 매우 친절하고 점잖게 우리의 일을 수행하면서 모든 사람을 기쁘게 한다면, 우리가 어떤 곳에 아무리 오래 머물더라도 아무런 반대도 없을 것이다. 만일 우리의 사역이 참으로 유력하다면 반드시 반대를 당할 것이다.

우리 모두는 하나님과 사탄 사이의 싸움이 맹렬하다는 것을 깨달을 필요가 있다. 그러므로 우리는 무엇을 하든지 절대적으로 하나님의 왕국 편에 있어야 하며, 아무것도 어둠의 왕국에 속하지 않게 하겠다는 분명한 태도를 가져야 한다.

하나님과 사탄 사이의 맹렬한 싸움으로 인해 우리는 대적의 공격에 대비해야 한다. 만일 우리가 유력한 사역을 수행한다면 결국 우리는 공격받을 것이다. 마귀의 ‘화살’이 우리를 겨냥할 것이다. 그러나 이것 때문에 두려워하지 말고 우리는 바울과 같이 용기를 내야 한다. (사도행전 라이프 스타디, 메시지 52, 444-445쪽)

Our ministry is to propagate the resurrected Christ as God’s kingdom. But today every city is the kingdom of the devil. Hence, the prevailing ministry for the propagation of Christ is a fighting, a battle, for God’s kingdom. The whole earth is the kingdom of darkness. If we are very kind and gentle in carrying out our work, seeking to please everyone, no opposition will be stirred up, no matter how long we stay in a certain place. If our ministry is truly prevailing, there is bound to be opposition.

We all need to realize that a battle is raging between God and Satan. Therefore, we need to be certain that whatever we do is absolutely on the side of the kingdom of God and that nothing is involved with the kingdom of darkness.

Because of the battle raging between God and Satan, we should be prepared for the enemy’s attack. If we carry on aprevailing ministry, eventually we shall be attacked. The demonic “arrows” will be aimed at us. However, instead of being dismayed by this, we, like Paul, should be encouraged. (Life-study of Acts, pp. 451-452)

사도행전 19장 23절부터 41절까지에서 우상 숭배의 배후에는 사도가 복음 전하는 것을 혼란시키고 방해하기 위해 소동을 일으키는 귀신들이 있었다. 이것은 사탄이 하나님께서 이 땅에서 그분의 왕국을 확장하시는 것에 대항하여 싸우는 것이었다.

에베소에서 바울의 전파는 유력했고 사람들이 그 도시에 있는 우상들에 대해 말하는 원인이 되었다. 은장이들은 그들의 사업에 대한 평판이 나빠질까를 염려했다(행19:27). 그 결과 거기에 큰 소동이 있었다.

사도행전 19장 23절부터 41절까지에서 우리는 중요한 원칙을 본다. 그 원칙은 만일 우리가 한 지방에 비교적 오래 머문다면 우리는 사람들을 흔들어 놓을 수 있는 유력한 사역을 해야 한다는 것이다. 어떤 의미에서 바울은 에베소에 있을 때 문제를 일으킨 사람이었다. 그가 도착하기 전에 에베소는 아데미의 우상을 섬기며 평온했었다. 그러나 바울이 에베소에 있을 때 결국 큰 소동이 일어났다. 그는 아데미의 이름을 공격하지 않았다. 반대로 그는 유력한 사역을 수행했으며 그 사역은 도시 전체를 뒤흔들었고 사회에 영향을 미쳤다. 이것은 만일 우리가 특정한 장소에 머문다면 우리의 사역은 올바른 방식으로 그곳의 상황을 흔들어 놓을 수 있을 정도로 유력해야 한다는 것을 나타낸다.

사도행전 28장 23절과 24절에서 바울은 하나님의 왕국에 관하여 증언하였다. 우리가 지적했듯이 하나님의 왕국은 사도들의 전파의 주된 주제였다. 이것은 사람의 눈으로 볼 수 있는 물질적인 왕국이 아니라 신성한 생명의 왕국이다. 하나님의 왕국은 생명이신 그리스도께서 그분의 믿는 이들 안에 확산되시어 형성하신 한 영역으로서, 하나님은 그 안에서 그분의 생명으로 다스리신다.

사도행전 28장 31절은 바울이 이 년 동안 로마에서 셋집에 머물면서 “아무런 방해도 받지 않고 아주 담대하게 하나님의 왕국을 선포하며, 주 예수 그리스도에 관한 것들을 가르쳤다.”라고 말한다. 하나님의 왕국은 사도행전이 강조하는 것들 중의 하나이다. 누가가 쓴 이 글은 하나님의 왕국으로 시작하여(행1:3) 하나님의 왕국으로 끝난다.

바울이 하나님의 왕국을 선포한 것은 부활하신 그리스도를 번식하는 것이었다. 어떻게 이것을 아는가? 왕국을 선포한 것은 부활하신 그리스도를 번식하는 것이라는 사실은 사도행전 28장 31절에 나오는 ‘주 예수 그리스도에 관한 것들을 가르쳤다’라는 말로 증명된다. 이것은 하나님의 왕국이 주 예수 그리스도에 관한 것들과 함께함을 가리킨다. 사람들에게 그리스도에 관한 것들을 가르치는 것은 하나님의 왕국을 확산하는 것이다. 그러므로 하나님의 왕국은 사실상 부활하신 그리스도의 번식이다. Behind the idol worship [in Acts 19:23-41] were demons who instigated the uproar against the apostle to disturb and frustrate the preaching of the gospel. This was Satan’s fight against God’s spreading of His kingdom on the earth.

In Ephesus Paul’s preaching was prevailing and caused people to talk about the idols in that city. The craftsmen were concerned that their business would come into disrepute (v. 27). As a result, there was a great disturbance.

In Acts 19:23-41 we see an important principle. This principle is that if we stay in a locality for a longer time, we should have a prevailing ministry, a ministry that is able to stir up others. In a sense, when Paul was in Ephesus he was a troublemaker. Before he arrived, the city was peaceful, worshipping the idol of Artemis. But Paul’s presence in Ephesus eventually caused a great disturbance. He did not attack Artemis by name. On the contrary, he carried on a prevailing ministry, and that ministry stirred up the entire city, affecting the society. This indicates that if we stay in a particular place, our ministry should be so prevailing that it stirs up the situation there in the right way.

[In Acts 28:23 and 24] Paul testified concerning the kingdom of God. As we have pointed out, the kingdom of God was the main subject of the apostles’ preaching. This is not amaterial kingdom visible to human sight, but a kingdom of the divine life. It is the spreading of Christ as life to His believers to form a realm in which God rules in His life.

Acts 28:31 says that during the two years Paul was in his rented dwelling in Rome, he was “proclaiming the kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, unhindered.” The kingdom of God is one of the emphases of this book. Luke’s writing both begins(1:3) and ends with the kingdom of God.

Paul’s proclaiming the kingdom of God was the propagation of the resurrected Christ. How do we know this? The fact that the proclaiming of the kingdom is the propagation of the resurrected Christ is proved by the words “teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ” in verse 31. This indicates that the kingdom of God goes together with the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. To teach people the things concerning Christ is to spread the kingdom of God. Therefore, the kingdom of God is actually the propagation of the resurrected Christ.
